Cookie Policy
We keep cookies to the minimum the product needs: a strictly necessary sign-in cookie, plus one optional advertising cookie that is set only if you accept it.
What we use
- Essential / authentication. When you sign in, we set a session cookie so the workspace knows you are logged in. Without it, sign-in does not work. These are first-party and strictly necessary.
- Advertising (optional, consent-based). If you reach Whittler through one of our ads, we use Google Ads to measure which ads bring people to the product. The Google Ads cookie is not set unless you choose “Accept” on our cookie banner. Until then, the tag runs in a cookieless mode that stores nothing in your browser, and if you decline, no advertising cookie is ever set.
Product analytics (first-party, no cookie)
We do not run third-party analytics or tracking cookies. Our own product analytics is first-party and sets no cookie. As you use the site we record which pages you view and which calls-to-action you click, together with basic details of your visit — a random session identifier, your device type, browser and operating system, and approximate location (country and region, derived at our edge) — so we can understand and improve the experience. We do not store your raw IP address; for abuse prevention we keep only a one-way hashed form of it that cannot be reversed back to your address. This data is first-party, is not sold, and is not shared with advertisers.
The only thing gated behind the cookie banner is Google Ads advertising measurement — you are always asked before that (advertising) cookie is set, and you can change your mind at any time by clearing cookies in your browser.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the essential session cookie will prevent you from staying signed in.
