Terms of Service
By using Whittler you agree to these terms. They cover acceptable use, your content, and the usual disclaimers.
The service
Whittler takes a résumé you provide and a job description you paste in, and produces a tailored résumé. The service is provided as-is and may change as we improve it.
Your account
You are responsible for the email account you use to sign in and for the activity under your account. Your account is for you alone: one person, not a team, a business, or a shared login. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
Personal use
Whittler accounts are licensed for your own job search. You may tailor and download résumés that present you, for roles you are applying to. Using your account to produce résumés for other people, whether for friends, clients, or customers of a recruiting, staffing, or résumé-writing business, is not permitted on individual plans, including free and discounted ones. If you want to use Whittler commercially or on behalf of others, contact us first at hello@whittler.ai and we will figure out the right arrangement.
Beta access and Founding Member benefits
During the beta, parts of the service are offered free or at a discount, and some early accounts receive Founding Member benefits such as lifetime free or lifetime discounted access to a plan. These benefits are subject to the following conditions:
Personal and non-transferable. Benefits attach to your individual account and your own use as described above. They cannot be sold, transferred, shared, or used to provide the service to anyone else.
Fair use. Free and lifetime plans cover ordinary personal job-search volumes. We may apply reasonable usage limits to keep the service healthy, and accounts with usage patterns consistent with automated, commercial, or multi-person use may be limited or suspended.
Active use. Free and lifetime pilot benefits are granted on the assumption that you will actually use the product to tailor a résumé. To keep them, you must complete at least one résumé tailoring within twenty-four (24) hours of creating your account. Accounts that have not done so within that window are not eligible for ongoing free or lifetime pilot access; we may revoke pilot benefits and move the account to the standard plan tier. If something genuinely prevents you from using the product in that window, write to hello@whittler.ai before it closes and we will extend it.
Scope. "Lifetime" means for as long as we offer the relevant plan as part of the service. Benefits apply to the plan tier they were granted on; we may evolve which features belong to which tier over time, and beta features may change or be withdrawn as the product matures.
Good standing. Benefits remain in effect while your account complies with these terms. We may revoke promotional benefits from accounts that breach them, including the personal-use rules above.
Your content
You keep ownership of the résumé content and job descriptions you put into Whittler. You grant us the limited permission needed to process and store that content so we can provide the service to you. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to upload what you upload, and that it is accurate.
Acceptable use
Do not use Whittler to break the law, to misrepresent someone else, to upload content you do not have the rights to, or to attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service.
No professional advice
Whittler is a writing tool, not a career, legal, or hiring guarantee. A tailored résumé does not guarantee an interview or a job. Review every document before you send it.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, Whittler is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the date below. Questions: hello@whittler.ai.
